Craft Designs, Inc (CDI), provider of government and commercial software solutions and services, is pleased to announce that it is now recognized as an ISO 9001:2015/AS9100D:2016 registered company in accordance with the standards set in place by the International Standards Organization (ISO). CDI began the initiative to certification in August 2016, consulting with The Core Solutions for certification preparation, training, and documentation updates. While partnering with The Core Solutions, CDI adjusted their already well-established procedures to align with the standards represented in ISO9001:2015/AS9100D:2016.
Prior to the required certification audit, CDI identified and trained six internal auditors that would perform audits on company procedures throughout the year to ensure organizational compliance with ISO9001:2015/AS9100D:2016 standards. CDI was awarded with the certification by Perry Johnson Registrars in May 2017, due to their continuous commitment to quality management and innovation.
The ISO9001:2015 standard outlines the criterion for quality management systems which include a strong customer focus, motivation and implication of top management, and a continuous approach to process improvement. These principles directly align with the processes and policies implemented across the entire CDI organization and are reflected in positive customer feedback and the high-quality products that are developed and delivered.
As an industry leader, CDI achieved one of the first AS9100D:2016 certifications in the Southeastern United States. This standard is specifically designed to provide standards to companies who work directly in the aviation, space and defense industries. AS9100D:2016 follows the structure of ISO9001:2015, creating a focus on risk-based thinking, planning, support, and leadership. CDI’s commitment to following these standards ensures that processes are predictable, consistent, and repeatable among the company’s development groups, teams and projects.
CDI focuses on process driven software development and independent verification and validation of flight safety critical and airworthy software applications. CDI has many years of experience in developing Flight Performance Models and other applications that interface with multi-platform mission planning systems. CDI looks forward to applying the standards of ISO9001:2015/AS9100D:2016 in conjunction with its CMMI-DEV V1.3 Maturity Level 3 certification to continue providing high quality products to its customers.
